Black Banks on St Simons Island

Eastbound on Sea Island Road, just past the Market at Sea Island is the entrance to Black Banks. As you pass through the main gate, everything behind you immediately disappears and you’re engrossed in what feels like a maritime forest with houses. Ancient live oaks are everywhere, draped in Spanish moss, along with endless varieties of foliage.
Black Banks
A naturalist’s dream As one of the oldest communities on St. Simons Island, home buyers never fail to become awestruck by its peaceful solitude and natural splendor. Located on property once owned by James Gould, builder of the original St. Simons lighthouse, Black Banks is a community of luxury homes on oversized lots, no two of which are alike. Some offer views of the marsh, along with the adjacent Black Banks River. Others sit next to peaceful lagoons where shore birds like to gather. All are beautifully landscaped to fit in with their natural surroundings. Next door is Sea Island About a mile down the road is the entrance to Sea Island, where Black Banks residents are eligible for Club membership, including access to the Sea Island beach plus all facilities and other amenities offered at The Cloister, The Beach Club and The Lodge. Due to its central location on St. Simons Island, Black Banks is also convenient to all the Island’s shopping, dining, natural and cultural attractions. Homes in Black Banks start at $800,000 with floor plans of at least 4,000 square feet.
